Re-imagine horoscopes to be a visually immersive experience

The Project

All of Yahoo! Media was moving onto a totally new platform in a crazy aggressive timeframe. Despite this, the Shine team wanted to take the opportunity to invest in a few key experiences and take advantage of the migration to do this. Astrology was chosen because it is the section with the highest traffic on all of Shine, followed by Food. Our goal was to create a highly visual and engaging user experience to appeal to various degrees of astrology fans. Our new design tested extremely well with users during rolling studies user tests and demonstrated a dramatic improvement over the current astrology experience.

My Contribution

Acted as design lead for duration of project.
Worked with all stakeholders (product, business and engineering) to understand and help shape the vision for the product.
Was the liaison between product, engineering and visual design. Coordinating needed assets and the design of those assets to create a fluid moving project in order to meet our highly aggressive timelines.
Dramatically simplified lots of bits of information into a clear and intuitive flow which tested extremely well with users.
Designed experience to work across all platforms – desktop, mobile and tablet.
