Aggregate all the best Entertainment information into a fresh, up-to-the-minute destination that is sticky to generate return visits.

The Project

http://entertainment.yahoo.com/

At the time, most of the entertainment properties relied on the Yahoo! home page for the bulk of their traffic. Yahoo! Entertainment wanted to create a useful and engaging entertainment-centric home page to provide easy access to featured entertainment content and create a relevant and fun reason for users to come back. This site needed to be able to stand alone being powered without any editorial control.

My Contribution

  • Work with research and marketing to understand user expectations through rounds of focus groups.
  • Understand business goals and editorial limitations.
  • Aggregate only the most useful and dynamic content from across movies, tv, music, games and others.
  • Work with creative to come up with interesting and new ways to display information.
  • Worked hand-in-hand with engineering to solve UI problems on the fly.
  • Main deliverable was detailed set of wireframes with specs.
