Disney’s Youth Group Programs needed a new website that would engage various youth audiences while being informative for their parents, an adult audience.
The Project
The challenge was to create an online experience that would get various types of pre-teens excited, from band members to dance squads, while be informative to parents and group leaders who needed detailed information. To accomplish this we designed the site with different entry points for the different user types: media-rich area to get kids excited, and more informative pages of each program to provide all the details. Each program had its own look and feel as well as a matching gated area to assist groups in planning their experience.
My Contribution
- On site user observation and interviews to inform the creation of user personas which were key in the design process.
- Understanding the various user needs across more than 5 personas, spanning more than 9 unique youth programs offered.
- Detailed site map breaking down the different areas of the site and the different audiences whose needs they would satisfy.
- Full set of detailed wireframes for the front end youth experience, front end adult experience and gated group user tool.
- Integrated wireframes into detailed functional spec document that was handed off to client for development.
